Must see in Delhi - Rozablue's favorites

|Karlijn van Driel

Every two years, I try to travel to Delhi to visit our factory and spend time with the people who create our beautiful hand block prints. And every time, I also take the time to experience the city itself. Delhi is intense, colorful, and overwhelming—but that's precisely what makes it so special. These are my personal favorites, which I highly recommend:

Sights

Lodhi Garden

My absolute number one! A green oasis in the middle of the hectic city. You'll find beautiful ancient tombs and quiet corners where you can stroll or simply unwind.

Humayun's Tomb

A precursor to the Taj Mahal and one of the most beautiful places in Delhi. The gardens and the impressive structure create an almost fairytale-like atmosphere.

Lotus Temple

An iconic building in the shape of a lotus flower, where you experience silence and tranquility inside.

Jama Masjid & Spice Market

The largest mosque in India and the bustling spice market surrounding it. A feast for the senses—colors, scents, and flavors all come together here.

National Gandhi Museum

An inspiring place where you can learn more about the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.

Accommodation

I always stay at the boutique hotel The Manor House. A quiet and stylish place where you can completely escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Drinks

For a unique experience, I love to visit The Imperial Hotel. The interior alone is a sight to behold, but enjoying a cold beer in this historic setting makes it even more special.

Shopping

Delhi has fantastic markets and shops, my three favorites:

  • Hauz Khas Village – hip, creative shops full of fashion and design.
  • Khan Market – stylish and fun to browse, albeit a bit pricier.
  • Dilli Haat Market – colorful market with crafts and fabrics. Good bargaining is definitely a must!

Food

My dining tip: New Minar Restaurant. No fancy food, just pure and delicious Indian food. The tikka is especially unforgettable.
